How to Sell Your Stuff
You’ve got the knack of downsizing for your big move to the next big part of your life in a new city, but now you need to know what to do with all the stuff you won’t be taking with you. It’s time to sell! Here are some tips for selling all your used treasures.
Consignment shops
Have an excessive amount of clothing you’d like to sell or a gently used sofa? Then check out your local consignment shops! Typically, you’d bring your items into the shop for them to appraise and then buy off of you. Of course, there is always the possibility that they won’t buy it so keep your options open with these next choices.
Craigslist
Craigslist is a great tool for selling anything and everything. The sign up is easy and placing ad is as well. The trick with these ads is giving a respectable write-up description on the goods. That means more than two sentences but less than 10. Think of it as a decent paragraph length. Also include multiple pictures of each for sale object. Then share it on your social media profiles! Speaking of…
Social media
Never underestimate the power of your social media presence! Most people see success when posting items for their friends, family, and acquaintances place bids on with outlets like Facebook. Be sure to post well lit and in focus photographs with prices so you will only get only truly interested folks asking about the pieces.
Pawnshops
When all else fails, check out a pawnshop. The higher ticket items will always go over better in a pawnshop than things that naturally have a lower ticket price. What they are looking for is jewelry, musical instruments, and electronics. Have an idea of what you’d like to get for each object before going into the shop and try to get what you believe is a reasonable price for it.
Happy selling!
