Living in Fountain Square | Indianapolis Neighborhood Series
Hogan Moving has been a part of the Indianapolis community since 1927. And, as a proud Indianapolis company, we’ve decided to start a blog series highlighting some of the great places to live in the area. For this blog, we’re highlighting a funky and fun Indianapolis neighborhood, Fountain Square.
Fountain Square Overview
The neighborhood of Fountain Square is just south-east of Downtown Indianapolis. As described by Discover Fountain Square, this neighborhood “has a world of independent restaurants, live music and performance, working artists with a vibrant arts scene, and one-of-a-kind stores that sell food, fashion, comics, musical instruments, fresh flowers, and so much more.”
Around 10,000 people live in Fountain Square, where there’s a mix of people renting and owning their own homes. Fountain Square is also one of the six Indianapolis Cultural Districts linked to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
Fountain Square’s top categories on Niche.com include Nightlife (A), Diversity (A-), Commute (A-), and Cost of Living (B+). Fountain Square’s lowest grades on Niche.com are for Public Schools (C-) and Health & Wellness (C-), although it does receive a B in Outdoor Activities.
