McCordsville Overview
McCordsville is an Indianapolis suburb 20 miles to the north east of downtown Indianapolis. Niche.com rates McCordsville as the #1 place to live in Hancock County, and it’s rated at #10 in the Best Places to Buy a House in Indiana.
Around 7,500 people live in the city limits of McCordsville, which makes it the second largest municipality solely in Hancock County, Indiana. Most residents own their homes in McCordsville, and you’ll find that the city has a nice mix of families and young professionals.
On Niche.com, McCordsville received an overall A rating. It’s “A”-rated categories were Housing, Good for Families, and Jobs. Nearly every other category, like Public Schools, Cost of Living, Outdoor Activities, or Healthy and Fitness, was a B.

Fort Harrison State Park | Fort Harrison offers year-round access to nature and is only a few miles to the southwest of McCordsville. Enjoy awesome sledding hills in winter, walking through blooming flowers in spring, canoeing down Fall Creek in summer, or watching the trees turn breathtaking colors in fall. It’s an “oasis of green in an urban landscape.”
Incrediplex | Located just to the southwest of McCordsville is the Incrediplex. According to their website, this place has “over 60,000 square feet of fun with 85+ arcade games & 5 attractions.” They also have a full fitness center, rock wall, obstacle course, turf fields and basketball courts, baseball tunnels, a bar and bistro and more.
