Hogan Moving has been a part of the Indianapolis community since 1927. And, as a proud Indianapolis company, we’ve decided to start a blog series highlighting some of the great places to live in the area! For this blog, we’re highlighting Indianapolis’s first planned residential suburb, the beautiful neighborhood of Woodruff Place.
Woodruff Place Overview
Woodruff Place is a historic community located one mile east of downtown Indianapolis. A part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1972, this neighborhood features a variety of Victorian-era homes in a beautiful park-like setting (Woodruff Place History.)
Laid out as a residential park, Woodruff Place experienced a building boom during the 1890s. Now, around 1,100 people live in this neighborhood (City-Data.com). With its close proximity to downtown, it offers quick access to Indianapolis’s nightlife, food, recreational activities, and more.
