9 Fun Fall Activities in the Indianapolis Area
Since we’ve been a part of the Indianapolis community since 1927, we know that living in and around Indianapolis gives you many opportunities to make the most out of the fall season. If you’re looking for ways to get out and celebrate fall, we’ve pulled together a list of 9 great fall activities all throughout the Indianapolis area.
Grand Fall Festival: Westfield/Carmel
Date: September 28, 2019
Location: Grand Park – the Sports Campus at Westfield
Time: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Price: FREE
Explore much of the 400-acre Grand Park campus at the Grand Fall Festival. This festival is one day only, but will have a “collection of fall activities including hay rides, pumpkin patch, vendor area, and more!”

Tuttle Orchards: Caramel Apple Festival & Fall Activities
Dates: See activity dates below
Location: Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield, Indiana
Price: Ranges
- Caramel Apple Festival: September 7th and September 14th
- Tractor Town: August 20th through October 31st
- Corn Maze: September 7th through October 31st
- Pumpkin Patch: October 5th through October 31st
- Wagon Rides: Weekday Afternoons & Saturdays throughout the fall
Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield, Indiana offers a variety of fall experiences. From their Caramel Apple Festival in September where you can pick apples and create your own caramel apples to their corn maze, pumpkin patch, and wagon rides there’s something for every family.

Harvest Festival
Dates: Thursday, October 3rd from 4:00PM to Sunday, October 6th 5:00PM
Location: Newfields in Indianapolis
Price: $5-$25
This October, head to the first ever Harvest Festival at Newfields. There will be fifty acres of fall activities from endless pumpkins to a hay maze and fall foliage in the garden. You’ll also be able to sample food from local and regional chefs and vendors and interact with farmers, brewers and distillers.
Waterman’s Family Farm: Fall Festivals
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana and Greenwood, Indiana
Date: Soon to be announced
Waterman’s Family Farm hosts two fall festivals each year, and they will be announcing the 2019 dates soon! In the past, these festivals have featured a family cornfield maze, hayrides, pumpkin bowling, live music, farm animals, pumpkin picking, and more.

Fall Harvest Days at Nehemiah Ranch
Location: Nehemiah Ranch in Avon, IN 46123
Dates: October 5, 2019 – October 19, 2019
Recurrence: Recurring weekly on Saturday
Price: Free-Donation
In Avon, Indiana, Nehemiah Ranch hosts a family friendly event with hayrides, a pumpkin patch, hotdogs, smores, and live music. This event is traditionally the first three Saturdays of October each year.

Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie
Location: Conner Prairie in Fishers
Dates: October 10-13, 17-20, 24-27
Price: Varies depending on when you purchase your ticket/if you are a member
Gates are open from 6-9 p.m.
Conner Prairie’s annual Halloween festival has plenty of activities, shows and “spooktacular family fun.” One of the most notable activities is the haunted hayride where you’ll be chased by the Headless Horseman!

Indianapolis Halloween ZooBoo
Location: Indianapolis Zoo
Dates: October 3 – 27, 2019
Activities run Thursday-Sunday. Open until 9PM Friday-Saturday.
Price: Standard zoo prices. You can purchase tickets in advance.
Your kids can dress in costumes and explore the Indianapolis Zoo with a fun Halloween-twist! At ZooBoo, you’ll not only get to access the zoo like normal, but you’ll get to participate in fun Halloween-specific activities like:
- Elephant Pumpkin Smash
- A stroll through Spooktacular Square for Pumpkin Bowling and goulish, goofy dancing to DJ Monster Music
- A Spider Fun for wild activities!
- Different treat stations along the ZooBoo Trail presented by Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent.
The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival
Location: Irvington
Dates: October 19th through the 26th

The Irvington Halloween Festival is well known across Indiana, and it has been a fall staple for 73 years. This festival features several fun events like the:
- Historic Irvington Halloween Charity Ball
- Pleasant Run Vampire Run
- Spooky Organ Concert
- Slightly Haunted Puppet Show
- Art and Silent Auction
- A Night Out in Sleepy Hollow
- Zombie Bike Ride
